Earlier on we informed you about a detailed list of weapon accessory fixes that are likely to be included in the next Battlefield 3 update for consoles and PC, but we have information for you now related to one of the most requested features that didn’t make it into the final version of the game.
If you are a Battlefield 3 player, you’ll probably agree that a spectator mode would be a great addition to the game. For some reason, DICE didn’t include this with the game that shipped in October 2010, but fans have been confident that DICE will include this feature in a future update for the game.
However, there are whispers emerging this week that the feature may already be hidden in the PC version of the game. A video which we have to show you below gives evidence of this, as the person responsible for this video claims that the spectator mode shown in the clip isn’t the result of a mod, glitch or bug of some sort. According to HazemHead (the uploader), this spectator mode for Battlefield was discovered by ‘messing around with the game files’.
The video itself is pretty cool and spectator mode works as you would expect it to, i.e the player having the ability to take a backseat and watch a whole match of Tehran Highway with a different viewpoint. However, during some instances in the video we do see the spectator seemingly being able to go through the ground and certain walls, leading some to label this as some kind of ‘no clip’ glitch.
With a lack of full description from the uploader, it is hard to tell if this really is a secret that DICE has planted in the game in preparation for a future update. Either way, let us hope that spectator mode is on the way officially, and it features aspects as shown in the video below. Take a look at the clip below for yourself and let us know your thoughts on it. Have you ‘messed around with the game files’ and found this too, or is it a bit suspicious for your liking?
