Just when you thought that we couldn’t possibly see another new white smartphone entering the market, Sprint has stepped up to the plate. It now seems likely that the carrier will be introducing a brand new white version of the Samsung Epic 4G Touch smartphone during the Christmas festivities.
The Epic 4G Touch is Sprint’s version of the Galaxy S II smartphone, and it remains a very popular handset amongst consumers. We previously informed you that Motorola were planning to release a white version of the Droid RAZR, but now consumers will now have another option available with the Epic 4G Touch.
This comes after the White iPhone 4S which is already available to buy of course, and also rumors hinting that T-Mobile will also be getting a white version of the Galaxy S II as well. If the Samsung Galaxy S II or the Droid RAZR do not take your fancy, then you may also be interested to know that Nokia are also bringing a Gloss White version of their N9 smartphone to consumers during the Christmas period.
Unfortunately there’s no official release date for the white Epic 4G Touch from Sprint, but Pocketnow has managed to get hold of some press images for you to take a look at. From what we gather, the change of color is the only difference between the standard version so don’t get your hopes up if you were thinking that there would be some hardware upgrades or anything like that.
When it comes to choosing a new smartphone, how important for you is the option of getting the smartphone in white? Does it take preference for you over the usually traditional black model, or do you see it as a dying trend once started with the white iPhone 4?
