If you are the proud owner of a new Galaxy Nexus on Verizon and have been wondering where is the offiical Flash Player, we have some good news for you. After a considerable delay, Adobe has announced that they have just released a new version of their mobile Flash Player 11, a version which now includes support for Ice Cream Sandwich.

It means that the Galaxy Nexus and any other Android handset that is running an unofficial version of ICS can get their hands on some Flash content, as the latest version, Flash Player 11.1 should be available to download now from the Android Market, as reported from BGR.

Last month, we told you that Adobe were planning to release a version of Flash for Ice Cream Sandwich, but the delay meant that owners in Europe who picked up a GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus had to do without Flash for the time being. Thankfully, Adobe has now put things right by releasing their updated version on the Android Market.

According to Adobe’s official update notes, there are some minor issues with Flash Player 11.1 that you may want to make note of. The most relevant of these is the fact that audio within Flash content will still keep playing before or after a call is received, so you’ll need to switch it off manually each time. This shouldn’t be a huge problem though to those of you who are just thankful that there is finally an official version of Flash to use on Ice Cream Sandwich.

On a side note, we’ve seen in a related video that one user who has updated to Flash Player 11.1 on his Galaxy Nexus appears to be experiencing all kinds of lag issues when trying to access Flash content like YouTube using the web browser. However, we’ve also heard that some users are reporting a problem free Flash update on their Galaxy Nexus, so this could be a specific problem with that handset.

If you have installed Flash Player 11.1 already, let us know how your experiences are so far. Any problems?
