If you are a resident in the UK you may be aware that there have been a number of weather and storm warnings issued by the Met Office for this week. They have forecast the chance of some severe damaging winds alongside possible flooding in many areas. So today we have a free apps checklist for users of both the Android and iOS platforms.
First up we have the official Met Office application for you that is available free on the iOS platform. This application promises to have the most accurate and reliable information available on your mobile device. It not only provides any national severe weather alerts, but also has five day forecasts with daily national and regional forecasts.

Users are also provided with UK rainfall radar and satellite imagery, and you can save and access your favorite locations. Head over to the App Store to find out more or to download.
For users of the Android platform we have a free application called UK Weather. This application offers accurate weather forecasts with rain radar displays using data from the Met Office. Users can get information for their local town or city along with any weather warnings issued by the Met Office.
There are also official maps from the Met Office that cover your location and the whole of the UK. Users are provided with detailed five day forecasts, and the rain radar, visible cloud, and infrared cloud are projected onto Google Maps. The Weather Channel app is available free of charge for both the Android and iOS platforms that promises the most accurate weather information available. Besides severe weather alerts for your location you are provided with hourly and ten day forecasts. Users can pinpoint their location for exact weather conditions, and you can even post the local weather to your Facebook wall.
