EA has released another of their teaser trailers for the upcoming Back to Karkand DLC expansion pack for Battlefield 3. Last time we had a look at Strike at Karkand, but this new teaser gives us another look at Gulf for Oman, revealing some brand new vehicles that will be available as well.
If you didn’t already know, this isn’t just your standard map pack post-release content that is going live for the game. Back to Karkand is actually a decent-sized expansion pack providing BF3 players with four new maps, one new game mode, 10 new weapons and exciting new vehicles to use as well.

Best of all, after Back to Karkand releases, the four maps – Gulf of Oman, Sharqi Peninsula, Wake Island and Strike at Karkand will go into the regular BF3 map rotation, along with all the new weapons and vehicles, meaning you can try them out on the new maps as well. We’re guessing that EA will separate gamers who have the Back to Karkand system files on their console or PC so that players who don’t have the Back to Karkand content will not be able to see the new maps or weapons.
Back to the new trailer though, and it is all about the new vehicles on offer. The gameplay looks just as fun as Strike at Karkand, but in Gulf of Oman players will have four new vehicles to use. One is the Short Take-Off/Vertical Landing fighter jet or STOVL for short, while a desert buggy and APC vehicle can also be seen during the trailer as well. Those three vehicles all featured in Battlefield 2, but if you head to 1.03 of the video, you’ll see a brand new, unannounced bulldozer type vehicle that is getting everyone talking at the moment.
We’ve seen it called a forklift as well, but for now we’ll just label it a bulldozer until EA DICE reveal more information on it. This new vehicle looks like great fun and judging by the video it looks like it will have space for three soldiders – one driver and two others either inside or on top of the vehicle. As you can see in the video, this vehicle looks ideal for taking out aircraft, with two soldiers equipped with stingers making the often frustrating task of taking down a chopper a lot more easier.
Check out the new footage below and give us your thoughts on it. Are you excited about this new bulldozer type vehicle as well?
