Nokia Lumia 800 update will fix battery problems – any other issues?

Nokia’s first-ever Windows Phone 7 smartphone, the Lumia 800, seems to be causing quite a stir around the world and is considered by many as a massive step in the right direction for the Finnish company. Today we have some great information for any of you who have suffered battery-related issues with this smartphone.

According to this recent post on Engadget it looks like Nokia’s team of developers are well aware of the problems and are working on updates to improve both power efficiency and charging. If you head over to the Nokia Discussions website you can see exactly what problems people are running into.

We are led to believe that only a minority of Lumia 800 users are experiencing problems, so if you are affected by any battery/power issues you are one of the unlucky ones. At least you can rest assured knowing that these annoyances have not gone unnoticed.

Roughly a week ago we told you that an update was on route, now we can confirm that in early December a software fix will be rolled out to address power efficiency – which should mean longer battery life. Another update will apparently arrive in January and will improve charging.

Both of the updates mentioned will apparently arrive via Zune and as and when we hear more detailed information we will keep you posted.
