Finnish phone giant Nokia has just recently launched their brand new range of Windows Phone smartphones with the hope that they can restore at least some of their once dominant share in the mobile phone market. The Lumia 800 and 710 have only just become available for order yet an image of potentially their next Lumia device has been leaked.
The image, which can be found at Pocketnow, introduces the device as the Nokia Lumia 601. The website has also warned that the image might not be as legit as it initially looks. If indeed the image does turn out to be Nokia’s new smartphone, the name suggests it is likely to be an entry-level handset. However there are certain aspects of the image that suggest that this could also be a fake.
As Pocketnow explains the image comes from a ‘pretty reliable source’ but there’s something just not right about the image making it look ‘off.’ First of all the edges of the image at the top of the smartphone look a little rough suggesting a bad Photoshop edit and second of all the camera module which can be seen looks almost identical to that of the Nokia C7, which could mean they have just stuck it on.
Either way nothing official has been announced of a Nokia Lumia 601 or lower-end handsets, despite the fact that the company is likely to launch an entry-level range of smartphones eventually anyway. In the meantime we will just have to keep an eye and ear out for anything else we see or hear on the matter. Be sure to check out the image for yourself by clicking the link above. Do you think this could be the Nokia Lumia 601?
