While many of the console gamers were busy enjoying Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption last year many PC gamers were apparently busy solving crimes in the Murder, She Wrote game for the PC. not only that but reports are suggesting that it was one of the best selling PC games of the year, with the latest news suggesting that it is now to get a sequel.
The games are based on the long-running murder mystery television series that stars an elderly lady named Jessica Fletcher, a former English teacher who writes mystery novels and in her spare time turns her attention towards helping to solve real-life murder cases. The game is published by Legacy Interactive, a leading casual game firm who announced last week that the sequel would be available to download and for purchase at retail stores in 2012.
According to the Legacy Games press release, gamers will take the role Mrs. Fletcher once again in Murder, She Wrote 2 as they investigate three new murder cases in her hometown of Cabot Cove. The game combines hidden object searches with light adventure, requiring players to be sharp at all times as they explore the large environments completing puzzles in order to solve each case.
The game will feature over six hours of gameplay, three original cases with over 80 puzzles that need solving and other familiar characters from the TV series Sheriff Mort Metzger and Seth Hazlitt. CEO of Legacy Interactive, Ariella Lehrer said ‘we are very pleased to be bringing back the beloved franchise in a sequel ideally suited for the casual gaming audience.’ She believes the inventive storylines and graphic quality will please both casual gamers and long-term fans of the TV show.
