Last month we had an article that had some rumored specifications for the BlackBerry Colt, which at the time was thought to be the first BlackBerry handset to come running the new OS from RIM. Today we have reports that the BlackBerry London now lays claim to be the first handset running BBX.

Over at The Verge an article has an image that you can see above, of a RIM handset that could be the first in the line of next gen BlackBerry’s. The handset in question is allegedly set for a release next June and will come with a TI OMAP dual-core processor that will be clocked at 1.5GHz.

The device is also thought to have 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, and has an eight megapixel camera on the rear with a two megapixel device on the front. It will please those who like their smartphones on the slim side as it is reportedly thinner than the iPhone 4, with a size similar to the Galaxy S II.

It may have a more boxy form factor though as the source is claiming that it can be stood up on one of its sides, and resembles the Porsche Design P9981 handset. The image of the handset showed the device running a variation of the PlayBook OS, but the source claims it is just a dummy model so it will just be a static image.

There is also the chance that this so called leak could be just a concept design that will never see the light of day. Do you like the look of the rumored BlackBerry handset?
