We have some great news for those of you who are constantly searching online for updates whenever the Battlefield 3 servers happen to go down. EA has set up a new website, designed specifically to inform gamers what the current BF3 server status is, at any given time.
We’re guessing that this situation has occured for most of you at least once, as EA has taken the servers down for maintenance on more than one occasion. No longer will you have to spend precious time searching though, as you can just go to EA’s Server Status checker here to find all the information you need.
As you can see, it tells you if each server is live, for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions of the game. If you look in the bottom right corner, you’ll also see that there is a status checker for Battlelog too which is handy. Since Battlefield 3 launched, I have found myself using Battlelog quite a lot as its really useful when not in-game and you want to check which unlocks you’re getting next, plus detailed information for a particular weapon or vehicle. We would like to see an update on the mobile version of Battlelog though, as the service would grow in numbers ten fold as soon as EA make it available on Android and iOS.
At the moment, you can obviously see the servers are up and running as normal on all versions of the game, which is great. Even better, a recent update to the game seems to have sorted out the lag and rubberbanding problems on Tehran Highway and Kharg Island that was previously causing gamers a lot of hassle.
Despite the launch of MW3, the servers are still as busy as ever, so it looks like EA has another winner on their hands for the time being and don’t forget they’ll get a massive surge in server numbers as soon as the Back to Karkand DLC pack goes live. We posted some fresh gameplay footage from Gulf of Oman and Strike at Karkand earlier, so check that again here if you missed it the first time around.
Will you find this server status checker useful? It may be a good idea to bookmark it if you use it regularly.
