Earlier today we told you that the Nintendo Wii console has been dropped to its lowest ever price by a major retailer. The move is likely to be followed by other retailers as they look to shift stock before its replacement is released next year. Now we can tell you that rumors are claiming that the Nintendo Wii U release date will provide dual touchscreen support.
According to an article on TechRadar a developer is claiming that Nintendo’s next gen console will support two touchscreen controllers, contradicting reports before that it would only support one. When the device was first showcased back in Junes E3 event, it surprised many watchers as the touchscreen took center stage.
Nintendo’s use of a large touchscreen controller was liked, but some developers claimed that only one of these controllers could only be used with any given game. Now it looks like the company is working on a fix so at least two people can make use of the touchscreen controllers.
Develop Online are claiming the unnamed source has stated work has already begun to support the extra controller. They said that “Nintendo now know they absolutely need to support two tablets, at E3 they didn’t commit to this, but they know how important it is to make it technically feasible to support two screens”.
If these claims are true it will make the Wii U more appealing to those who like playing multiplayer games with friends and family. When it was first mentioned the Wii U would only support one touchscreen controller, there were many who said what is the point of the console. So it makes you think Nintendo may have had a change of heart after hearing such comments.
