There is certainly many nice looking handsets about to be released or in the pipeline, especially on the Android platform. Earlier today we gave you news of a Verizon holiday 2011 roadmap, which had details of the Motorola Xoom 2 and the Galaxy Nexus. Now we can report that it’s the turn of the Motorola Droid 4 as it shows its face on Verizon systems, so is the release date imminent?
The guys over at Droid Life are reporting the Droid 4 has appeared on a couple of different Verizon Wireless systems. We first told you about the device towards the end of October with an image and some impressive looking specs.
Before the Xoom 2 appeared on the same system on October 23rd, and the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models could now be launched on November 30th. So if the Droid 4 is showing up on Verizon systems for testing and internal system setup, the handset could be available in a month or two. There could be a chance that the Motorola Droid 4 could be the big pre Christmas release for the carrier.
It is believed the Droid 4 is similar to the Droid RAZR that is being launched on Friday, and is thought to be powered by the same 1.2GHz TI OMAP processor. The rumored eight megapixel camera is believed to be capable of 1080p video capture. There is also the chance the Droid 4 could come running Android Ice Cream Sandwich as well, or be updated shortly after release.
