If the upcoming Galaxy Nexus or Droid RAZR handsets do not interest you, there’s a good chance that the HTC Rezound, also bound for Verizon will. This handset is slowly gaining a cult following as the secret handset to watch out for on Big Red.
The device, which you’ll probably be more familiar with its alter ago the Vigor, has an impressive set of hardware specs which potentially make this phone very desirable indeed and on par with the likes of the Galaxy Nexus and Droid RAZR.
For starters, it is meant to be equipped with a super speedy dual-core 1.5Ghz processor (Qualcomm?) and 1GB of RAM on top of that. It has a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 capacitive display screen and it comes with an 8MP camera capable of 1080p HD video as well as a separate 2MP front-facing camera. Like any other Android handset with the exception of the Galaxy Nexus, the Rezound is rumored to be shipping with Gingerbread only, but the latest version of HTC Sense 3.5 may help to sweeten the deal a little bit.
On to the news now though, as the handset has shown up online in a video comparison alongside the ‘ancient’ HTC Thunderbolt, also on Verizon as you know. The video gives you a good look at the sheer size of the Rezound compared to the Thunderbolt, and also some very useful opinions on the included Beats audio that comes with the Rezound as well. For example, the user in the video states that the quality of the sound is very impressive when headphones are plugged in, and you’ll also see a nifty Beats logo in the top-left hand side of the device once the phone recognises that you’re using Beats headphones.
Check out the video below and let us know what you think about it. Are you considering picking up the Rezound for its musical capabilities, or is it simply third best behind the Droid RAZR and Galaxy Nexus?
