We recently informed you about another stunning Skyrim teaser video which contained some breathtaking music, but now we have even better news for those of you that appreciate Elder Scrolls music. Rumor has it that the official soundtrack for Skyrim will be releasing on no fewer than four CDs, providing hundreds of hours of pure bliss.
We’re not sure about you, but one of the biggest compliments we can pay Oblivion aside from the gameplay is the fact that the game contains some of the most beautiful music you’ll ever hear in a video game. Composer Jeremy Soule is the man to thank for that and we’re delighted that he will once again be at the helm for all of the music featured in Skyrim.
According to a recent report over at GameZone, the Skyrim soundtrack will be featured on four discs and will be priced at $30 to buy. Obviously that is quite a hefty price to pay in today’s reasonably priced digital markets, but considering how well received the Oblivion music was, it’s no surprise to see Bethesda bump up the price. Don’t forget though, four discs worth is a lot of content when you think about it, and it will probably serve you with around 300 minutes of non-stop memorable Skyrim themes.
Considering that most record companies demand over $10 for a lot of the typical garbage pop music you see on places like Amazon and iTunes, it’s no big deal in our opinion to pay $30 for four discs full of masterpieces. Then again, we have a feeling that some of you will still be unhappy that this wasn’t included in the Collector’s Edition of the game.
Either way, we’re interested to know how important the music is to you, and if you’ll be forking out $30 for the official soundtrack. Is it money well spent for you, or will you be giving it a miss in favor of just hearing the music in-game? On a side note, here’s our take on the 25 minute gameplay leak that is doing the rounds at the moment.
