Last week we confirmed the start times and date for Google’s rearranged Ice Cream Sandwich and Galaxy Nexus smartphone event, but now we have some exciting news that you may not be aware of – Google will be live streaming the event too!
If you missed the all important dates, head to our previous article here to see a very useful chart showing the 10am HK start time on October 19th, converted to your local time zone in your area. Since the event will be starting in the morning in Hong Kong, it means that the event will actually be taking place during prime time in the US on October 18th.
Android fans in the US can simply tune in and enjoy Google and Samsung’s event after work at 7pm Pacific Time or 10pm Eastern Time, but fans in the UK have a difficult task ahead if they plan to stay up since the event will start at 3am London Time. As for the live stream, Google will be streaming it from their Android YouTube channel. Click here for the link.
So we’ll definitely see Ice Cream Sandwich at the event, and you can bet that we’ll see the Galaxy Nexus too since Google and Samsung will need a handset to show the fancy new software on. We have seen countless leaks on the Galaxy Nexus prior to the event, so we would be extremely surprised if we didn’t see new hardware at the event.
On a side note, those of you who are a fan of PlayStation products may want to keep an eye on the AsiaD conference that is scheduled in Hong Kong the same day after Google’s event. Kaz Hirai is one of the confirmed speakers at the event, and he may have one or two surprises in store for attendees – you never know. You can check out the full list of speakers here – Apple’s Phil Schiller is also expected to speak to the event too which should be interesting.
Will you be tuning in to Google’s live stream tonight/tomorrow? Let us know what your expectations of the event are – Solid unveils and release dates for Ice Cream Sandwich and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus perhaps?
