If you are not an Apple fan you won’t be counting down the hours to tomorrow’s launch of the new iPhone. But if you are still in the market for a shiny new smartphone we have some news that may interest you. So you can forget about the iPhone 4S and think about a new Android for a penny.
Amazon is currently offering a variety of different Verizon handsets on Android and other platforms for only $0.01. You would have thought they would be old models that have been available since the dawn of time, but according Mashable the likes of the Motorola Droid Bionic 4G are available.
This handset originally cost consumers $299.99 with a two year contract when it was first released, but now with the same contract length it can be yours for a single penny. Other worthy handsets available include the Motorola Droid 3, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC Incredible 2, and Samsung Droid Charge.
In total there are 31 different smartphones available for the seriously low price from Amazon. If you don’t fancy an Android flavored device there is the HTC Trophy on the Windows Phone platform. If a new BlackBerry takes your fancy you can choose from the Bold 9930 and 9650, or you have the Curve 9330.
Obviously it has to be remembered all these handsets have to be taken on a two year contract, but that was the case when they first released at a much higher price. There are some pretty impressive handsets in the Amazon but they are only available to new customers. Have a look at the Amazon sale yourself here.
