We have some fantastic news for those of you who are looking for some ‘expert’ feedback on the sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum before it hits shops. It looks like another review has now been published for Arkham City, and any doubts you surely had about the game have firmly been put to bed.
We have previously told you about the first review for Arkham City, which came from the Official PlayStation Magazine, but now we have what will perhaps be perceived as a much more ‘neutral’ review, which comes courtesy of Game Informer.
First of all, we can tell you that the publication has once again given Batman: Arkham City a perfect 10/10 score, meaning that out of the two reviews we’ve covered so far, both have awarded the Arkham Asylum sequel with maximum points.
The review is available to read to those who pick up the latest edition of the gaming magazine, but for those that are looking for a sneak peek, here is a snippet of their review, courtesy of GamingEverything:
“Gotham City is lavishly detailed with dark hues and soaring architecture. Most of the central story missions take place indoors in environments that are just as striking. The museum is particularly impressive.”
With that in mind, it’s easy to assume that Batman Arkham is going to be one of the best games of the year to own on the PS3, Xbox 360 or PC, but how good will the game actually be when compared to the likes of Skyrim, MW3, BF3 and Uncharted 3 which all release shortly? Momentum is slowly gathering on the fact that Rocksteady may have a contender for G.O.T.Y (Game of the Year) with Arkham City, which would mean yet more awards for the developer after Arkham Asylum received a Spike and BAFTA award for its efforts.
As good as Arkham City inevitably is, do you think it is worthy of an early G.O.T.Y tagline already? Are critics starting to get a bit carried away with the whole ‘G.O.T.Y’ moniker, as the title is seen as one of the most prestigious out there, yet nobody has had a chance to play it yet. Give us your thoughts on this.
