With yesterday being a sad day due to the early passing of Steve Jobs, it seems fitting that the release of the iPhone 4S has proved popular, just like other version before it. We already reported what time the pre-orders were to start, and also the fact that AT&T was limiting the handset to one per customer. However, as expected there have already been a number of pre-order problems, with the major one being the delay in shipping time.
When I placed my order this morning it said that my handset would ship by October 14, 2011. However, we have now heard from iPhone Rumors that this has moved back to 1-2 weeks for those trying to pre-order theirs. This has come as no surprise to us, as the same thing happened to the iPad 2, and many other Apple products before that.
Now one can get upset and say that Apple should prepare for such a thing, but it just goes to prove despite the negative comments regarding the fifth-generation iPhone, it still managed to cause panic and slow Apple servers down for several hours. Those first orders that went through are expected to still be delivered by one week today, but cannot say for certain how long those ordering now will have to wait.
Speaking of iPhone 4S pre-order problems, when Apple Store’s across the world came back online this morning some people were having an issue with the processing screen. Some of our readers decided that after 30 minutes they would close the page and go ahead with another order. However, we would advise for you not to do this, as they found two confirmations of orders sitting in their inbox.
So just hang tight if that processing screen is going on for some time, as that order will go through. For those who have had this issue, just sign into your Apple account and cancel one of the orders. The good thing about this is that this will free up another handset for those who now have to wait up to two weeks.
