It has only been a day since Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S, however that is enough time for Firemint to announce an update for Real Racing 2 which will bring plenty of new features and improvements to the game when it is played on Apple’s 5th-gen iPhone.
The update will bring AirPlay functionality to the game, this means that you will be able to stream the game at 720p via the iPhone 4S’s AirPlay Mirroring functionality, also the update will allow iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to use AirPlay and compete in a split-screen multiplayer game on a TV.
Not only will the new version of the game allow for these aforementioned AirPlay features, but also iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owners should see much improved visuals, we are told that there will be better lighting and shadows, more polygons and additional details to cars, exposure effects and tremendous reflections.
You can grab the game HD version of the game here it costs $6.99, or alternatively you can buy the standard version of the game here for $4.99. The update which brings the improvements mentioned in this post should arrive at a similar time as iOS 5 and the iPhone 4S arrives – so roughly October 12.
Real Racing 2 has been a huge success at the App Store and the Wii U-like functionality that AirPlay Mirroring allows for is pretty groundbreaking, you can see our review of this via this link.
With seven times the graphical power of the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S should take smartphone gaming to a whole new level, the AirPlay Mirroring functionality ensures that people aren’t limited to the iPhone’s 3.5-inch display, obviously streaming at 1080p would be amazing, but 720p is still pretty impressive in our opinion.
What other iPhone games would you like to see boast AirPlay Mirroring support?
