Not long to go now, and in an hour’s time we will find out just what Apple has in store for us. As with every event, we are uncertain as to all the details, such as if it will be called the iPhone 5 or 4S, but let’s say that it’s the former for now. Just before the event we thought it would be a good time to offer a Q&A before the announcement, which should keep you occupied until Tim Cook takes to the stage.
The iPhone 5 has been a long time coming, as it seems like a lifetime since the release of the fourth-generation model. Before each event like this nothing is certain, so all that’s known is based on guesswork, which is just what The Telegraph has put together. One question that keeps coming up is how many iPhones will there be, as there have been a number of suggestions that there will be two? The most likely is that there will be two, one high-end and the low-cost version.
If there is to be an iPhone 5, then consumers are anxious to know just what it will look like. If we are to believe all the cases that have been showing up, then it will have 4.4-inch display with a teardrop design. Apple will also do away with the glass back and go back to metal, which should help with the antenna issue. However, there are some that suggest that it will look the same as the iPhone 4, which if it does is a bit of a let down.
Knowing how much it costs is another factor, although it seems as if consumers are willing to pay whatever price Apple comes up with – you only have to look at the iMac to know just what we mean. The 32GB version should cost £510 and the 64GB version £612, which will offer a better deal when compared to the current model.
Other questions are no brainers really, as the processor will be the A5 dual-core CPU, and an 8-megapixel camera. The final question that needs to be answered is the release date for the new iPhone, and the best guess would be October 14, 2011. Just one last bit of news, the Apple Store is down, so something could be coming today.
