We have a treat for Xbox 360 users now, as a video has found its way onto the internet apparently showing the updated User Interface that will be contained in a forthcoming Fall 2011 Xbox 360 dashboard update, which is meant to be landing in November.
We have no idea how this has managed to leak out, but we don’t really care either. It looks like the real deal here, so you’ll want to watch this video as soon as possible before Microsoft start removing it from YouTube.
The visual changes are quite striking too, as you’ll see that menus are now displayed in the style of Windows Phone 7, which will be very pleasing if you are a fan of Microsoft’s visual style of the software. Other changes include YouTube support, content from TV providers, Bing support within the web browser and Kinect support too.
It’s interesting to note that the Bing support will apparently be compatible with all the content on your system too, so you’ll be able to pull up Bing searches automatically, based on the games that you already have on your hard drive – a simple but neat addition which fans will enjoy using we feel.
The update is not due to release until November 15th, as reported from TechCrunch, so watch it while you can. Unfortunately the menus are in French, and there’s no system music on the video which has been provided by MyNititori. Instead you’ll have to make do with the custom Bob Marley track that the uploader has used – hey, we’re definitely not complaining.
If I had to make a quick decision on which style looks best, I’d pick this Windows Phone 7 style interface for sure, it does have that sexiness to it which I find quite appealing. Of course you may have a different opinion, so naturally we’re interested to find out what you think about it.
Are you a fan of this new UI or not?
