Recently DICE’s Global Battlefield Community Manager, Daniel Matros (aka zh1nt0), revealed that a new update was coming to the PC version of the Battlefield 3 PC open beta, we have a full list of changes which this brings, however we have to admit that we are slightly disappointed by the lack of significant improvements.
Roughly two hours ago the PC beta went down while the patch was applied, now you should notice significant improvements to the beta’s server browser, such as improved scroll handling, more accurate pings and a more precise player count. We can also confirm that players with rank 45 will now show the correct icon on their stats page. It has also been revealed that the leaderboards for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the beta have been patched, however further details were not given.
By the looks of things there have been some changes made “under the hood”, a recent tweet from Matros said: “Lots of mechanical fixes and tweaks are/have been made already”, as there is a 140 character limit on Twitter we didn’t get a full breakdown of what these “mechanical fixes and tweaks” entailed – therefore if you notice anything obvious let us know in the comments section below.
As you can see the guys over at DICE are really listening to the feedback they are getting from people who are playing the beta, in fact Matros recently said how valuable the guys at the studio find all of the information which people are submitting. If you notice anything wrong with the game make sure you head over to the official Battlefield 3 forums. In fact even if you don’t have feedback to leave you may find some of the submissions quite interesting.
When we hear more about new updates we will keep you posted.
