Now that we’ve entered a new month we thought it would make an interesting article to look at famous October birthdays in technology. One of the most famous tech people born in the month of October is Bill Gates, with a birthday of October 28, 1955. There is not a lot we need to explain about this billionaire other than use the words Windows and Microsoft, which was started in 1976.

Some other famous birthdays in October for tech related people include John Warnock (October 6 in 1940), the computer scientist well known for being a co-founder of Adobe Systems Inc with Charles Geschke. October 14, 1857 is the birthday of Elwood Haynes, an auto pioneer who built one of the earliest American autos and two days later on October 16, although in 1979 is the birthday of Matt Nagle who is the first person to use “brain-computer interface to control movement”.

There are also lots of patents for this month, which mark the birth of some inventions that changed our lives forever. These include Electric photography; also know as photocopying and xerography, which was patented on October 6, 1941 by Chester Carlson. October 10, 1911 is when Henry Ford received a patent for “automobile transmission mechanism”, and we know how this turned out.

Other notable patent birthdays include one for “multi-control for electric trains”, which was granted to Frank Sprague on October 16, 1900. And Nintendo fans will be happy that Nintendo of America registered on October 27, 1992 for the configuration of their famous hand-held gaming device.
