For people who are trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle or lose weight and get fit, modern technology can be a great aid in achieving your goals. Today we have for you nutrition data instantly with a free iPhone application.
NutriScanner 1.0 is brought to you by Ontario based body-PRO, and with a simple touch of a button can provide nutrient information from any standard NLEA label. Users of the application can use their device to scan and read the nutrient information on the label. They are then provided with information containing serving size, calories, carbohydrates, fat, protein, and weight.
Just by taking a simple photo can help users get the information they need to help with their weight loss program or plan. A study released last year in the Journal of Consumer Affairs, found that by simply reading nutrition labels on packaged foods helped people lose weight.
The study also found that people who either exercised or read labels, those who read the labels had an advantage over people who only exercised. It uses Optical Character Recognition that is designed to get nutrition facts direct from photos.
If you wanted to find out how many calories the bowl of cereal you had just eaten, after taking a photo of the label on the box the app will get you all the information you need. The free application is compatible with the iPhone, iPad 2, and iPod Touch 4G on the App Store. iOS 4.2 or later required.
