As Forest are currently in the bottom half of the league we thought what better way to give fans a boost than by letting them in on some apps available on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Nottingham Forest Football Club is based in West Bridgford, and play in the Football League Championship. A group of Shinty players, founded Forest in 1865 as Nottingham Forest Football and Bandy Club. In 1890, Forest played in the first ever match to use goal nets.

Their most successful period came under the management of Brian Clough, between 1975 and 1993, during which time they won the English league championship, two consecutive European Cups and four League Cups. They played in the first season of the newly formed Premier League in 1992 and have subsequently suffered a number of promotions and relegations between the top three divisions. Forest have been based at the City Ground since 1898. It is said that the name “Forest” does not originate from Sherwood Forest, but from the Forest Recreation Ground just north of Nottingham City Centre, which is where the club first played upon its formation in 1865 although the name of the Forest Recreation Ground does come from a time when that ground was part of Sherwood Forest. The club is often referred to simply as Forest. Their fans have a deep dislike of their club being referred to as Notts Forest. This is because Notts is the abbreviation of Nottinghamshire, hence Notts County, and not of Nottingham itself. The team are also called the Reds, due to the color of their strip.
