Teardown of iPhone 5 components or 4S

Whenever you teardown a new device you get to see just what makes them tick, and that is also the case even before the likes of a new smartphone gets released. There has been much speculation over the months as to what processor the iPhone 5 will be getting, and a recent shot of the internals shows that it could very well be the A5 chip. However, we could be looking at the inside of the 4S instead, which is rumored to also be coming in white.

We can clearly see from the image that it is not a snap taken from an iPad 2, as it does not look the same. Phone Arena says that it has almost the same configuration as the current iPhone 4, although it is still very different. So what we are looking at here is either the new fifth-generation of the iPhone or the cheaper version that has been rumored to be released later this year.

We cannot say for certain how real the photo of this teardown part is, but there are a few things to suggest that all is not what it seems. Certain things look a little out of place, such as the A5 stamp on the chip and the markings on the battery. However, as this could be a prototype things like this will be very different to what we see inside a production model.

We can pretty much say that it is a done deal that the iPhone 5 will be getting the A5 processor, but the one thing that has kept us guessing the most is the size of the handset itself. For sometime now we have been able to keep an eye on what case makers have been doing, and now it seems that more of them have been manufacturing cases to take a larger phone. Okay, so we know that this is not proof, but it’s all we have to go on until next month.
