There has been a lot of talk over the last few months that Apple were set to launch two new smartphones in the coming weeks. Most of the focus has been on the iPhone 5 and what new features Apple may bring with the device. It is also thought that Apple will be releasing a new cheaper version of the iPhone 4. Today we have news of a white iPhone 4s that could be imminent as details leak for the device on a carrier.
A photo was recently leaked over at Engadget that is showing a listing for US carrier AT&T, which shows an internal inventory that has an entry for the white iPhone 4s. The listing is beneath other iPhone models such as the iPhone 4 and 3G, but it doesn’t show the memory size of the device.
AppleInsider have noted that the listing for the device doesn’t have the usual capital letter like that is seen with the iPhone 3GS. Many rumors have circulated recently suggesting that Apple will be launching a new cheaper iPhone that will have a similar design to the iPhone 4. This is why many have called the new device the iPhone 4S, and will allow Apple to take on the prepaid market, and compete with midrange Android devices.
There have been some that claim the new cheaper alternative will also be have a smaller design with only 8GB of storage. If true potential customers can get round this smaller memory with the use of the upcoming iCloud feature of iOS 5.
Only recently we reported that Apple could be revealing its plans for the iPhone on October 5th, with the device or devices being released a week later. This would be different to the situation that surrounded the iPhone 4 that didn’t see a white version being seen for months after the release.
