This week has been one of the most packed with Apple rumors this year, so we thought a little recap of some of the biggest iPhone 5 rumors week ending September 11 is in order. Just in case you missed anything, let us recap some of the iPhone 5 related news this week.
At the start of the week we had a little look at a story of another iPhone prototype going missing and how some bloggers thought it could be a marketing strategy for Apple, although a closer inspection shows that this was extremely unlikely. Just one day later we heard news that some new jobs had been advertised after the Apple iPhone 5 prototype apparently went missing.
We also looked at how a new iPhone 5 could bring with it a few changes, one being an increase in Apple TV sales thanks to better integration between the iPhone and Apple TV’s, streaming of content to Apple TV’s being one hoped for feature on the next iPhone. Another report looked at the possibility that a new Apple CEO could help bring Adobe Flash to the next generation iPhone.
More hints of an iPhone 5 release coming soon were shown with iPhone 4 shipping times slipping, daily production numbers posted, and rumors of a potential iPhone 5 announcement date with a likely keynote on September 19th or 26th. Just the day after these reports the Apple store went down, and although there was no chance this could be an iPhone 5 being added to the store, it did not stop some people getting excited.
It’s almost certain that the new iPhone will include a design change in 2011, and this was shown in rumored iPhone 5 cases, although we must remember some rumors can turn out to be a hoax like that of Best Buy.
While nothing about Apple can be certain until they officially release details via events and press releases, one rumor that looks increasingly solid is Sprint getting the iPhone 5. This rumor was given more weight thanks to reports that Sprint will give unlimited data with the iPhone 5, and Sprint staff holidays being put on hold around the same time an iPhone 5 is expected to release.
Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages, as we don’t expect the rumor mill to stop anytime soon. Only today we heard that Vodafone UK might have accidently revealed iPhone 5 details.
