Sprint staff holidays put on hold for iPhone 5

By Updated on

It will be quite a shock now if the iPhone 5 doesn’t arrive on the Sprint network as we have seen increasing rumors about the issue. Of course these are only rumors but there have been a few now from various sources, which makes you think they can’t all be false. Today we have news that Sprint staff holidays are on hold for the iPhone 5 release date.

A leaked document that has been discovered by SprintFeed is saying that there will be no time off allowed from September 30th through to October 15th. It says this is because of the “possibility of a major phone launch”. The carrier has already sent out invitations for a “Strategy Update” it announced last month so could fall in with the iPhone 5.

Only yesterday we reported the carrier was going to offer unlimited data with the handset, which would be a different tactic to that of AT&T and Verizon. It all started with reports that Sprint reps were telling customers the iPhone 5 was coming to the network. This led to the company advising staff to offer a no comment stance when asked by customers about the handset.

There has even been talk the carrier was going to get the iPhone 4 as well, which could be the rumored cheaper version of the device that is thought to be launching at the same time. The carrier has already announced the Epic 4G Touch, so you would have thought the only other possibility is the iPhone 5.

The time frame for the holiday blackout would provide time for staff training, and all the work that is involved in getting ready for the launch and the rush for the device when available. We have had some readers contacting us saying they have been told by someone they know from Sprint the device was incoming. There are also many consumers not currently on the network who would jump at the chance of defecting to the carrier, especially if they offer unlimited data.

Will you get the iPhone 5 on Sprint?
