An application that has won critical acclaim and is available for owners of the iPad is The 911 Memorial: Past, Present and Future. The application explores the Twin Towers as they were constructed with videos of the site well before 9/11. Users can follow the tragic day as it unfolds, and is followed with an insider’s view of ‘Reflecting Absence’ and the Memorial Plaza and twin pools.
It contains over forty videos with more than an hour of original content, animations, site tours, and museum updates. Other features include over 400 images, and links to connect with the National September 11th Memorial Museum site. Users can explore the arrangement of all the names on the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. Other features include the ability to listen to remembrances of those lost spoken by family and friends, and locate sponsored cobblestones on the Memorial plaza. Simply called 9/11 this free iOS application, which is also available on the Mac App Store, has more than 1200 photos and videos of 9/11. This includes the aftermath in New York, Shanksville PA, and Washington. It shows images before, during and after the attacks. Users of the app have given it praise and said it shows how America can pull together. 9/11 is available worldwide on the App Store.
