Earlier on we informed you about the confirmed launch date for the Motorola Droid Bionic via a new video teaser, and now we have some further news for Droid Bionic fans. As some of you are aware, the handset features a nifty animated live wallpaper, and we have details on how you can install it on any Android device running firmware version 2.1 or later!
If you haven’t seen the Droid Bionic ‘Red Eye’ animation yet, check out the similar start-up animation here to give you an idea of how the live wallpaper will look – it’s pretty spectacular. The animation is available to download on any Android device courtesy of Droid-Life and a lucky user who is already in possession of a Droid Bionic despite the fact that it’s not due to hit stores until this Thursday, September 8th.
Aside from the wallpaper, the file also comes with some configurable options which allows you to tweak certain settings for those who are concious as to how much much battery life this live wallpaper may drain from your overall usuage. You’ll be able to choose from settings such as having the wallpaper activate every few minutes, or just animate when the wallpaper is physically tapped by the user – which is a pretty neat addition.
If you are interested in trying this out, you can download the file directly here, simply click install when the installer asks and you’re good to go. This is completely free so you should definitely try this out if you want to experience a portion of the new Droid Bionic on your existing Android handset. Of course, if you are planning to pick up the Droid Bionic, this will be pretty irrelevant to you as you only have a few days to wait until you can enjoy this wallpaper on the Bionic itself.
For those of you that have already tried this trick, let us know your thoughts on it – is everything working fine for you?
