The next few weeks is going to give consumers some tough decisions when deciding which new smartphone to buy. Not only have we got the release of the iPhone 5, the Motorola Droid Bionic and Samsung Galaxy S II launches are getting closer. There are now reports that Sprint are to be first with their version of the Samsung Galaxy S II.
According to SprintFeed the carrier are set to be first out of the blocks with the handset, which on Sprint will be called the Samsung Epic Touch 4G. The handset is thought to be releasing on September 9th, which isn’t the usual Sunday when Sprint usually release their handsets. Trouble is this year the Sunday is the tenth anniversary of 9/11, so it makes perfect sense to release the handset on the Friday.
There are no pricing details yet, but this news conflicts with earlier rumors that Verizon customers were going to get the cell phone first. There have been reports before that Verizon were to get the handset on September the 8th following a leaked road map for the carrier. Meanwhile it has been rumored that T-mobile will be getting their version of the device on October 26th, and called the Samsung Hercules.
While none of these dates are confirmed they should become clearer in the next few days as Samsung is holding a press event in New York City on the 29th of this month. Consumers are now going to have the nice problem of deciding which new smartphone to purchase next. If you are not a fan of the iPhone, you can still get hold of a great smartphone.
The European version of the Samsung Galaxy S II has proved a great success since it was released, but is currently part of the patent dispute between the company and Apple who are trying to get a total ban on the device.
Which of the new upcoming smartphones will you be getting?
