We have a treat for those of you who are intent on picking up Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim when it releases in November, as we have an excellent image to show you which gives you a clear idea on just how much Bethesda has improved the character races in Skyrim compared to previous titles in the franchise.
The game is not due out until November 11 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 of course, but it looks like the coming weeks are going to be jam packed with all sorts of Skyrim teasers as Bethesda aim to get everyone’s juices flowing until the big launch date.
We’ve previously given you information on some of the new skills, races and the upcoming Collector’s Edition of the game, but now you’ll be wanting to check out the following image below which shows some of the races in Skyrim and how they have changed since the previous two games in Morrowind and Oblivion.

As you can see, detail has drastically improved from Oblivion, and you can immediately see the level of changes thanks to the new engine that Bethesda are using for Skyrim. Good examples which highlight the graphical improvements include the Khajiit race, the Orc race, Argonians and also the dark elf race which looks noticably different compared to the same class in Oblivion.
Naturally, hardcore Elder Scrolls fans are going to have a lot to say about the visual changes to the races, but overall we think that most of you will be impressed. However, this screenshot does give a painful reminder on just how ugly some of the races looked in Oblivion, so you may feel that Bethesda can’t do any wrong updating the races from Oblivion to Skyrim with a brand new engine to utilize.
What are your thoughts on the races, are you impressed or not? Don’t forget that this isn’t the final list, as we’re yet to see what the high elf looks like for example. We’ll let you know once we gather more intel on Skyrim.
