WWE 12: Full superstars, legends and divas roster confirmed

By Updated on

We first told our readers about the WWE 12 game back at the beginning of June this year, when we provided them with a release date, the box art and a brief teaser trailer. Although we’ve been able to provide them with a few more details about the much-anticipated game since then, we haven’t had any confirmation regarding the official roster.

That is until now anyway!! According to a recent article by Giulio Romano over on the bleacherreport.com website, the full superstars, legends and divas roster for the upcoming WWE 12 game has now been confirmed. Not only will fans get the opportunity to play as current WWE champion John Cena, they can also play as John Morrison, Randy Orton or R-Truth.

The WWE 12 roster also includes superstars such as Alberto Del Rio, Kofi Kingston, current Tag Team champion David Otunga, Goldust, Triple H, Wade Barrett, CM Punk, Vince McMahon, Big Show, The Miz, Jack Swagger, Sheamus, The Undertaker, Zach Ryder, Mark Henry, current world heavyweight champion Christian and Rey Mysterio.

If on the other hand you want to try your luck as a female wrestler, then you might be pleased to know that the WWE 12 roster includes divas such as Layla, Eve Torres, Natalya, Beth Phoenix, Michelle McCool, Maryse and current divas champion Kelly Kelly. As for the legends section of the roster, this includes the likes of Arn Anderson, Booker T and The Rock.

Other legends featured in the game include Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ricky Steamboat, Edge, Demolition, Kevin Nash, Vader, Road Warriors and Eddie Guerrero. As Travis Leamons over at wrestling.insidepulse.com recently noted, THQ’s website indicates that the roster will contain a total of 77 wrestling personalities, but the recently revealed list only has 62.

Although it was also revealed that Jerry Lawler would in fact be a downloadable character available from day one, it still leaves 14 empty slots. Who else would you like to see included in the WWE 12 game?

Definitely HBK and Randy Savage. Savage is the most under looked legend of all time and if they do not include him im not buying. if they dont induct him to the hall of fame ill stop watching.

  • Jgcena

Ric flair should also be included but im not too worried about that

  • awesome

I think it should be 80s legends likes from the previous games, with some additions.  I’d like to see: Andre the Giant, Roddy Piper, Hulk Hogan, Big Boss Man, Dusty Rhodes, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Honky Tonk Man, Jimmy Snuka, Junkyard Dog, Hillbilly Jim and for once … a female legend or two.  How about Fabulous Moolah (80s version, not 80-year-old version) and Trish Stratus?  Also, just for kicks, I’d love to see One Man Gang or Akeem … or maybe OMG w/ alternate attire as Akeem!  Kamala would be good, too, as would Big John Studd or King Kong Bundy.  And PLEASE bring back the big splash finisher and make it OFF THE ROPES, like it’s actually done by everyone who has ever used it as a finisher, not from the standing position.  Or, better yet, have the option to create-a-finisher starting from the opponent on the ground facing up position.

Also, would it kill THQ to actually do some research before they create legends?  Since when has Smash EVER dropped the elbow for the decapitation elbow drop?  I realize it depends on who’s in the ring and tags out, but to put that up as a screen shot is just lazy.  Legends of Wrestlemania had so much hope for being awesome with the very comprehensive roster, but the gameplay just sucked and there were LOTS of oversights on details … Kamala did not carry a baton, he carried a spear, Honky Tonk Man had entrance attire that never shows up, for whatever reason, and I think half of Andre’s moves were wrong.  The twentysomethings they have building these games are super-talented, but they really need to do their homework and stick the details.  They’re every bit as important to older WWF/WWE fans as movies made from comic books to those geeks.  Ax’s make up is another one that irks me.  Yes, it changed some, but not a lot.  I think he only wore the black/silver make up as a heel.  For most of his time in the WWF, he wore the red and silver variation shown on his profile pic on the roster.  Maybe there are licensing issues or something we’re not all aware of, it just really bugs me.  I am very happy that Demolition is finally in a game though!  I can’t wait to get it!

Good list.  I’d probably add Ric Flair, Earthquake, Doink, Rick Rude and some other ones.  I’d like to see Bad News Brown, I know it won’t happen, because he wasn’t that popular.  I always end up making him on CAW.

  • D-lo

Jake the Snake!  We need 2 keep him on the roster.  Also, Million Dollar Man.  I think they should add Sensational Sherri, too.  What about Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Bam Bam Bigelow?  That wud b awesome.

    This game needs Kaval

Most of the legends mentioned here are very good. It would be obvious to me that Shawn Michaels & Bret Hart are shoe-in choices. I think THQ should either include/make compatable legends that were featured in 2009′s “Legends of Wrestlemania” to coincide with WWE ’12 like they did with RVS 2009. I totally agree that Randy Savage should’nt be snubbed in this game as he has in the previous THQ games (with the excepton of Superstars this past Summer.) Trish Stratus would be a great addition as well as the ORIGINAL Diva, Fabulous Moolah!! Although, I’d LOVE to see Benoit in the game, I don’t think they would put him in due the incident which killed him and his family….. But they DID add Eddie Guerrero!!  Angle, Hogan and Flair would DEFINATELY belong in this game, I am almost positive that TNA owns their likenesses and trademarks etc. so they more than likely would only be available via CAW option….. But they DID add UFC’s Brock Lesnar!!  I doubt the Von Erichs, Freebirds, Rock N’ Roll Express, Midnight Express, Larry Zybiszco or Missing Link would get in either but I would like to see odd balls like George Steele or Doink The Clown be featured as well as Mankind, Chris Jericho Goldberg,DDP and Scott Hall. With CAW, you could always create Sting, Luger, etc. I would agree that the “20somethings” that create this game gave no thought to add 4-5 man Survivor Series matches rather than 3 on 3 elimination tag matches. Lastly…Where are the managers? They could’ve added Heenan, Hart, Blassie and Fuji and have a CAW that would allow you to create NWA greats J.J Dillon and Jim Cornette…Maybe even WWE H.O.F’s Capt. Lou Albano? I guess I’m showing my age? Enough on MY rant, I’ll just wait and see how this whole thing plays out, like the rest of you’s. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
