For a game that hasn’t officially been confirmed yet, Grand Theft Auto V has been getting quite a substantial amount of attention lately. This is no surprise as it is one of the most anticipated games thanks to the success of its predecessor, GTA IV. Today we have news via the owners of Rockstar Games, publishers Take-Two Interactive who have hinted at an announcement on the release of the game to be made this year.

The GTA saga has been around for a quite a while now has always pushed the boundaries of what is ok to include in a videogame. This is what makes the game such a hit with gamers and is why the next title is so hotly anticipated. Any news regarding the release of a new GTA title is bound to get people talking which is how we managed to get wind of this news.

While analysts are still being forced to predict the release date of the game due to the lack of confirmation, many certain that we will see the game next year or at the latest spring time the year after, the publishers continue to refuse to confirm still. When asked when they would be announcing GTA V they simply explained that they would be unveiling their next financial year’s new title releases during the course of the ‘coming months.’

As Metro explains the publisher’s financial year does not start until April 2012 and ends in March 2013, this could mean if the game is announced, we can expect to see it as early as next April and at the latest in March 2013. Investors in the company are worried that this could be too late as they are relying on GTA profits to make money next year. Despite this Take-Two are adamant that they will make enough profits from Duke Nukem Forever and other recently announced games such as Borderlands 2 and BioShock Infinite.

Do you think we will see the game released next year or the year after?
