In fact, we found a recent article by Scott Webster over on the androidguys.com website, which lists 16 popular cooking / recipe apps for Android users. First on the list is the Lawry’s Digital Dinner Bell app, which enables users to notify their family / dinner guests that dinner is ready either by text, an automated phone call or even by sending a Facebook message.
If on the other hand you are short on time, then Real Simple’s No Time to Cook? application might be worth considering. The app – which costs $4.99 and requires Android 1.6 or above – contains almost 1,000 different recipes that all have a preparation time of less than 40 minutes. It also features how-to videos, kitchen timers and interactive grocery lists.
Another great cooking app on the list is Campbell’s Kitchen. Not only does this app enable you to find recipes by keywords or just browsing, it also allows you to scan the UPC barcode on any Campbell’s product to see what recipes come up. Meanwhile, Baconnection is the ideal app for bacon lovers, as it contains nothing but bacon-related recipes from a number of different sources.
In the Kitchen: Recipes, Chefs on the other hand is the official app of the Food Network. This app provides users with recipes from their favorite personalities including Paula Deen, Rachael Ray and Bobby Flay. It also features unit converters, cooking timers, shopping lists and more. Jamie’s 20 Minute Meals is another app for people that are short on time.
The Jamie’s 20 Minute Meals app features sixty meals from the man himself, each of which take 20 minutes or under to prepare. It also features other handy tips such as how to cut an onion and how to sharpen a knife. Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner app enables users to choose from over 40,000 different user-submitted recipes based on dishes or ingredients from your fridge / pantry.
Maybe you’re looking for a diet-friendly cooking app? If you are, then the Healthy Recipes-Spark Recipes app could be the one for you. This app enables you to browse and search thousands of different recipes from SparkPeople.com, as well as access nutritional information for each recipe.
Betty Crocker Mobile Cookbook is another app on the list. The official app comes with over 2,500 recipes with step-by-step instructions and an ingredients search. Meanwhile, the Epicurious Recipe App provides users with access to more than 28,000 recipes from top cookbooks, professionals, restaurants and cooking magazines.
Other apps on the list include Easy Chef Recipes (15,000+), which enables you to find the perfect meal for every occasion, Mario Batali Cooks, 170,000+ Recipes Big Oven, Happystove, What’s for Dinner Premium and Recipe Search.
