Since the beginning of the year there has been so much confusion with Motorola and their Droid Bionic handset. For those who have had their heads buried in the sand, the new Android handset suffered a series of delays, but it now looks as though Verizon customers will be able to get their hands on the Bionic in September. Let’s not get into the whole August thing again, just be happy that it is finally coming – even if you will have the choice of the Galaxy S II and maybe the iPhone 5 by then.
Moving on, now that you know that we have just over a month until the Droid Bionic hits Verizon you now have a dilemma on your hands. You can be one of the first and pre-order once that page goes live on Verizon; currently they only have a sign up page to register your interest, but we expect this to change over the coming weeks.
Some may choose to wait and take their chances by going down to their local Big Red store, as they want to know that they will not have to wait in all day for the courier to turn up. There are those who are not so lucky, as they will have to wait a little while longer so they are then eligible for an upgrade. There is one other issue, one that could go against the device, and that is the fact that 4G LTE might not yet be available in the area where you live. This could be a deciding factor, but at least you could still have the technology, because chances are it will be in your vicinity sooner rather than later,
If we had to guess, we would say that most consumers would pre-order the Bionic the moment that Verizon makes the page go live. There is one other aspect that we did not think of up until now; some may wait until the reviews come in.
The reason we say this is because we still have no idea of what the finished design will look like or what hardware to expect. The reviews should start appearing one day after release, so this could affect your decision. Would you want the Bionic if you found out that the battery was shocking and the UI had a few glitches in it? This could be like the HTC ThunderBolt – although we very much doubt it?
