We have some important news now for those of you that play the Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X version of the hugely popular life simulation game The Sims 3, as we’ve recently discovered that Electronic Arts has just released a major update for the game. As you may already know, the update will automatically download the next time you start the Steam Client.
As John Papadopoulos over on the dsogaming.com website recently noted, the update brings a lot of fixes, improvements and additions to the game. For example, imaginary friends that have been made real will now keep their unique outfit while aging up, and Sims will now be able to learn their imaginary friends’ traits a lot easier when they are changed into a live Sim.
Players will also notice that the update has now resolved the issue where Baby Sims were becoming stuck on a Sim’s hand whilst driving a car. Another problem that has now been fixed is the one where Metals and Gems in a Sim’s inventory became unusable once the Generations expansion had been installed. Sims won’t be spammed with Field Trip opportunities any more either.
The update has also made it so that Sims will now react to another Sim that is ‘Showing Off’ a skill they learned at a club or afterschool class, and spiral staircases won’t be able to be placed in areas that Sims can not route to any more. Another change is that Sims will no longer be able to have a negative amount of memories in their scrapbook.
Children who perform a ‘Dino Smash’ on a doll’s house will now have a chance of being scolded, and players will also find that daycare children will no longer be abandoned on their Sim’s lot. The issue in which a Sim would be unintentionally removed from a Boarding School when the prom of another Sim started has also been resolved with the new update.
The update also brings a number of changes and improvements to the Late Night expansion pack. For example, vampire’s fangs have now been restored, and objects with interactions will now work correctly when placed on Sectional Seating tables. The issue where glass objects would flicker when Advanced Rendering was turned on has also been resolved.
