The third installment of the popular franchise from THQ, Saints Row, is due out for release soon which means the buildup to the date is just heating up. The other two games have been fairly popular, allowing players to express their inner villain and cause as much havoc on the city as possible, and the new title promises to be just as successful. Today we have news of a new trailer from the game that teases gameplay and some of the characters involved as well.

Players of Saints Row: The Third, which is set years after the rival gangs of Stilwater were defeated in Saints Row 2, take control of the leader of the Third Street Saints, Johnny Gat once again as they try to defeat the new rivals the Syndicate. The trailer throws you into the action of a bank robbery which lands them into a spot of bother as it’s the crime organization Syndicate that owns the bank.

Though the trailer is not particularly long, it is action packed, giving high hopes of what to expect from the game itself. That’s pretty much the job a trailer is meant to do anyway. The action includes high speed car chases, firing pistols whilst in mid-air, fights with cops dodging missiles and of course a bank robbery.

It is the subtleties in the trailer that I found interesting, like the Johnny Gat bobble-heads, flipping a shot gun in the air and smashing a gang member between the legs with it, using a man dressed as a tin can as a skateboard and Johnny Gat robbing a bank disguised with a mask of himself. The one-liners are also promising to be very cheesy and over the top, for example Johnny Gat saying ‘who doesn’t wanna be Johnny Gat?’ Just what you’d expect from a Saints Row title.

As those at We Got This Covered explain, this is could be one of the strangest games ever which is most likely why it is so enjoyable and has proved so popular with gamers around the globe. The game itself is due out November 15 and is promising to smash THQ’s pre-order records. Check out the video below to see what sort of thing we mean when we say strangest game ever.
