The FIFA 12 release date is edging closer and is now only a couple of months away. EA has been doing their best to tempt us into purchasing our copy of the game including releasing details about the improvements in gameplay, details of the different game modes and trailers revealing how the gameplay has changed. Today we have news of a new trailer that reveals so much more.
Every time a new FIFA game is released the expectations are very high and so they should be. The last couple of FIFA titles have made vast improvements on the graphics and this year’s installment is looking to carry on that pattern, as you can see from the video which we have embedded below, the facial graphics are more authentic than ever before.
It was recently revealed that Manchester City FC, a Barclays Premier League side, has signed a deal with EA that will allow the company the rights to include the authentic faces and team kits in the upcoming title. The team has just come of the back of one of their most successful seasons ever, which a lot of people argue is down to the purchases of several high profile players, thanks to the injection of an almost infinite amount of money from their recently required owners.
As a result Man City’s full first team squad has taken part in EA’s 360 degree head scan technology, meaning their faces that feature in the game will be more easily recognizable. Man City’s Chief Brand and Commercial Officer, Ian Cafferky stated the deal with EA is ‘the beginning of what I know will be an exciting partnership.’ As T3 explains, the trailer release marks a celebration dedicated to that partnership.
The trailer is one of the first that features gameplay shots and I believe is the first to reveal a new football kit. It features several of Man City’s star including David Silva, Joe Hart, Yaya Toure and James Milner, all with the authentic face detail from the 360 degree head scan technology. Playing in the background is also the team’s theme song ‘Blue Moon’ making the dedication to the Man City fans even more obvious.
The game is set to release on the PC September 27th, with high hopes that a release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as well as other consoles, will follow on September 30th. Check out the video for yourself below. What are your thoughts on the game so far? Do you like the new trailer?
