Having been to Rome a few times, I feel the Eternal City will always have a place in my heart. This amazing city has many great features for you to experience. Whether it is sitting and enjoying an espresso on the Spanish Steps or getting the feel of a gladiator from the Colosseum. Named after the legend of the twin brothers Romulus and Remus the capital is also known as Caput Mundi, the capital of the world. Get equipped with an iPhone app as there are so many historical stories that involve Rome and historical places to see. Here are a few applications we thought might interest you.

Rome to Go Pro – Italy by Maxwell Software is available for $0.99 through the iTunes App Store. This application will educate you on the completely opposite styles of art and life that manage to live side by side, from Imperial Rome and Baroque Rome to the sophisticated Rome and working-class Rome. With detailed tourist information about hotels in Rome, you can also access information on cultural events, shopping, restaurants and clubs. There are features on the history, culture, transportation, geography, economy and much more. Using this app will give you general information on all aspects of the Eternal City.

Rome Map and Walking Tours by GPSmyCity.com, Inc. is a free application available at the App Store. One of the best ways to see Rome is on foot. This app comes with a detailed and fully functional city map to assist you explore the city and locate sights.
