We are getting ever closer to the release of the next Call of Duty game, and as that date gets nearer more details are becoming available. The Call of Duty Elite invites began rolling out to gamers recently, and today we have an article looking at the Modern Warfare 3 Spec Ops Survival review and preorder records.
With the Black Ops game many people enjoyed the zombie mode with some only playing that part of the game. Modern Warfare 2 had the Spec Ops mode which according to AnthonyD of TheGamersHub a majority of gamers didn’t notice, and he has now been able to play the new co-op mode.

The new Spec Ops Survival mode was described as “hardcore in-your-face action” which doesn’t end until the controller is put down, before you pick it back up again to improve on your previous score. It is stressed that this isn’t just a cheap take on zombies, but a game which players will love. It combines parts from the Spec Ops and puts two players in an online or offline survival mode which has no end.
It will come with its own progressive rank system similar to the online multiplayer which will be displayed on players Call of Duty card from the lobby screen. This will be in multiplayer and the new Spec Ops Survival mode, and while both modes are displayed whichever one you are in gets precedence. It will also be available for players who want to play solo.
To begin with you only get some grenades, flashbangs, and a pistol to shoot anything which isn’t your partner. As soon as you have defeated a wave you get a total of earnings for you and your partner, and once one or two waves are completed a gun icon is displayed. This is where you can find the gun crate and purchase new weapons or upgrades, and if you pick up an enemies gun it is added to the gun store.
Once you have navigated through some more waves you are shown a grenade icon. This will allow you to purchase grenades and perks which include Last Stand; this allows you to stay alive after being downed once. The Last Stand perk is the one which most players will want, and if you want more of them further down the line you have to pay $3,000.
A few more waves defeated will allow players to buy killstreaks, turrets, and machine or grenade guns. The game has new killstreaks which include one where players can call on a group of SAS soldiers to assist them, and one where players can get a riot shield squad. The enemy waves never end so you will need all the help you can get in this Spec Ops Survival mode.
Juggernauts are back and are meaner than ever, and as soon as you hit wave 12 the game really gets going throwing all sorts at you. Meanwhile the upcoming game is on course to break the records that Black Ops set last year. The Independent is reporting that UK retailer GAME is saying that preorders are outstripping those of Black Ops. GameStop in the US have also reported of big preorders for the game which is set for release on November 8.
