Roughly a week ago we posted an article which pointed you in the direction of some FIFA 12 first impressions, in this article we briefly mentioned a new feature never before seen in a FIFA video game which is called EA Sports Football Club, or EAS FC, this is a social feature which should help bring you and your friends closer together and perhaps encourage people to play the game more than they usually would.
Explaining exactly what EAS FC is quite difficult, however recently EA Sports posted full details on its website, you can read all about it here, in our article we will summarize what was said.
One of EA Sports Football Club’s features allows you to affect how the team you support is doing in ‘Support Your Club’ leagues. When playing FIFA 12 you will choose which team you support and then when earning achievements, winning trophies and scoring goals etc will gain XP, which in turn raises your FIFA level, the game’s servers then work out the average XP per supporter, which then affects how well your team is doing in the ‘Support Your Club’ league. As scores are averaged out it means that teams with lower numbers of fans can compete with Barcelona etc, this will give people a reason to progress when playing the game.
Like many social networking websites there will be a news feed which tells you all about what other people have been doing, EA will put in place a dedicated team of developers who set you new challenges and scenarios to overcome, this will enable you to recreate and rewrite history and in-turn earn XP. If you accomplish your goals people will see this in the news feed and will then be spurred on to do it themselves. If you complete all the challenges available don’t worry as these developers will be adding more for your to attempt, which means that you won’t have to repeat previous challenges turn earn XP, this may help the game’s longevity.
There is also talk of some social networking website integration, however details regarding this are currently scarce, could this mean that you will be able to share your in-game progress with friends via Facebook, Twitter and Google+? We hope so…
Do you think that this new social element will spur you on to play more FIFA when the game arrives?
