News of Mac OS X Lion does not seem to be drying up anytime soon, we assumed that Apple’s latest OS was going to be released last week, but that date has now shifted to this Wednesday – well if you believe the rumors that is? Lion will be ideal for consumers, but comes into its own for business users, but why?

From the 250 or so new features you can be sure than some of them will be tailored for the business user, but we cannot help wondering how they will be able to manage their Mac App Store account on multiple computers in the workplace?

Ever since Mac OS X Lion was announced, many of us have been wondering what it will mean for businesses and IT departments. So if we had to pick some of the best business features in Mac OS X Lion, what would they be?

AirDrop is the first and is ideal when you need to move large files between a network. Now some of you may say use email, but we all know how slow and limited they are on the file size. We have yet to learn what the limitations are of this Wi-Fi transfer feature, but InformationWeek says that you need to be close. Do not let this put you off, as in most cases you are pretty close to a computer on the same network – well only if you have a small business.

Auto Save is one of the most important features in IT, as it allows you to carry on with your work without the need to keep saving your work. How many times have you forgot to save and lost all your work? This feature will not only save on time but also money for a business on wasted hours.

If you are an enterprise user, then ITBusiness suggests that Windows DFS Support is a feature that you will want to use. This has been a long time coming, as users have wanted this feature for a while now. Over the years IT support have managed to come up with a different solution when working with Windows servers, so this can not come a moment too soon.

We cannot talk about business features in Mac OS X Lion without mentioning iCal. With the new version comes a few usability upgrades, such as easier configuration settings. Things are now much easier, a little like the iOS version.

These are just a handful of what we can expect from Apple’s latest Mac OS, but what business features are you looking forward too the most?
