News of the rumored next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft has been gaining momentum over the past few months, and now that Nintendo recently announced their upcoming Wii U console, we can expect both companies to make technology strides. This then leads us into a video that we have embedded for you below that offers a graphics insight into the PS4 and the Xbox 720.
The video gives you a little look into what the graphics could look like; there are three videos in all, but have been rolled into one. We are told that these are some of the best graphics around, and the guy in the video is not wrong. If you want to know what to expect in the future, then you really need to see it to believe it.
The first demo is from the Unreal 3 Engine, and the developers have them running at what they believe the likes of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 720 or whatever it will be called should look like. This truly is a great insight into the future, and we cannot see why it would not happen? The next video is not a demo, and is fully playable, and is called the iCEnhancer Mod. The graphics are unreal and are seen running on GTA 4.
This looks like a real city, it’s as if we are looking at a moving version of Street View, as the graphics are that crisp. The final video is of Janimation, which is a facial animation system. From the moment that you see the first image you will be blown away, even James Cameron would be proud to have something like this.
It works in much the same way as movies like Avatar, as it tracks people’s faces. We can expect this to be implemented into a future version of Kinect, but it will be a little creepy. Now we cannot say for sure when the PS4 or the Xbox 720 will be released, but we have looked into the idea that Sony and Microsoft getting together and developing the ultimate games console, as well as the fact that all three next-gen consoles will be running AMD graphics.
Now we cannot say which console will be released first, but it looks as though the Wii U will beat Sony and Microsoft, as we know that it will be released some time in 2012. Having said that, we do not think that they have anything to worry about, as recent news suggests that Nintendo’s next-gen console is lacking in a number of key areas.
