As we move closer to the release of Modern Warfare 3 in November, gamers will no doubt be experiencing a mixture of feelings involving sheer excitement and the fear of Modern Warfare 3 turning into a glitch fest like MW2.
Just to remind you, Modern Warfare 3 will be releasing on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 8th and its certain to become one of the best sellers of the year, with a huge expectation on Infinity Ward’s shoulders to deliver a package which tops Modern Warfare 2 in all aspects.
One aspect which gamers will be praying is sorted out in time for the release of MW3 is glitches and exploits, two factors which ruined the MW2 multiplayer experience for MW2 for many. The good news, is that Infinity Ward has recently come out and stated that exploits is the key area that they are aiming to stamp out of Modern Warfare 3.
To show you how serious they are taking things, they have even hired a separate team of experts who have specifically been chosen to help discover exploits, bugs, glitches and strategies, and then report the findings back to Infinity Ward so they can improve the game further before the magic November 8th launch date, as revealed over at CVG.
This kind of in-house stress testing can only mean good things for those hoping for an exploit-free Call of Duty game. It sounds like a dream come true doesnt it given what happened with Modern Warfare 2, but Infinity Ward are definitely heading in the right direction so we can’t wait to see how multiplayer fairs this time around.
Despite Infinity Ward’s efforts to make Modern Warfare 3 a glitch-free game, we’re still a bit worried that some clever individuals will still find a way through Infinity Ward’s security to ruin the game for everyone else. The key area for us, will be Infinity Ward’s activity once the game is actually released. We’re hoping that they will be moderating the game very closely and problems will be patched up within days, rather than leaving gamers to rot with broken multiplayer games for weeks, which is what happened with Modern Warfare 2 and changed many gamer’s perceptions after that.
If you played Modern Warfare 2 religiously, give us your thoughts on the situation involving exploits for Modern Warfare 3. Do you think it will be inevitable that glitches and exploits will arise despite IW’s efforts to stamp them out? Imagine playing an exploit-free game of Modern Warfare 3 though, sounds good doesn’t it?
