Now that we only have a few days to go until the much-anticipated NCAA Football 12 game makes its way into stores in North America, the game’s creator EA Sports thought that it would be the right time to reveal details regarding its day 1 patch. Not only does the launch day patch make several notable improvements and fixes, it also includes a brand new addition.
According to pastapadre over on the pastapadre.com website, the patch (which is already available) has added the ability to edit rosters from within the NCAA Football 12 game’s Dynasty Mode. EA Sports also announced that the pay-for-feature – which will enable progressing Online Dynasty from week-to-week from the website – has now been delayed, and should be available at some point in August.
The patch has fixed a number of NCAA Football 12 exploits including one where the defenders were not switching assignments correctly when an outside receiver was put in motion, and another that involved hot routing a PA pass while under center and running with the quarterback. The patch has also fixed a problem in Custom Playbooks, where removing too many formations would result in an empty playbook.
In terms of online play, the patch has fixed a rare crash that occurred when entering online games on the PlayStation 3, as well as fixed a number of dysnc and disconnecting problems. Another couple of issues that have now been fixed are the one where defensive coverage assignments were not updated properly when the offensive called an audible and the issue with the look of the sparkle on helmets in night play.
The day 1 patch has also added the PAC-12 Championship logo, which will now appear both in the UI and on a player’s uniform during a game, as well as the ability to change the CPU controlled team’s playbook at team select. The issue on the Job Openings screen of the Coaching Carousel that would always default players back to the top of the list has also been fixed with the launch day patch.
Other problems that have been fixed include a timing related crash that sometimes happened when you back out of a Dynasty from within the coach editor, a rare problem where a co-coordinator would not be on the field for plays when they should have been, and an issue that prevents players from using team colored gloves once they go to college.
