It’s been four years since a single phone was released by Apple that aimed to take on an army of devices from well-known and respected brands, a mission that Apple both believed it could do and has now been proved successful, if the hype surrounding the new iPhone 5 is anything to go by. You only need to look at recent Apple rumors of 15 million fifth generation iPhone’s being ordered, which leads to a few speculations, including an expansion of networks.
Apple certainly predicts more sales than before, and one way this can be done is by expanding the amount of networks they offer the iPhone on. This would take away the limitation produced by having the iPhone on a small number of networks, and also the idea that the best Android phones were on Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. If we see an iPhone 5 for Sprint, AT&T/T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless, how can Android combat that?
The problem then falls to the networks wanting to standout with their iPhone offering, if they all have the new iPhone 5/4S. If rumors become reality and Sprint get the 2011 iPhone, how could the network attract more users for Apple’s device? What could they add that would make you want the iPhone 5 on Sprint?
Following on from our earlier look at the reasons why a Sprint iPhone 5 could trump Verizon, when looking at the hardware sales, we wanted to find out where you stand on any enticing offers Sprint could offer you for an iPhone 5? With the rumors of manufacturing delays, increased orders for production, and why it’s unavoidable for a Sprint iPhone 5 to release, it’s looking like when and not if Sprint’s getting the iPhone.
One recent poll by WSJ asked if it’s readers would upgrade to the iPhone 5, and the results showed that 76.5% (4660) would upgrade while 23.5% (1430) said they wouldn’t. This shows a clear demand for the new technology to be offered by Apple later this year, but what network would users want it on?
Please vote in the poll below. Will you consider a Sprint iPhone 5 if the right offers were on the table?
