If you own an Apple iPad / iPad 2 or a Samsung Galaxy Tab and you’re toying with the idea of buying a speaker dock, then we have some news that could well be of interest to you. iLuv Creative Technology has recently introduced some brand new accessories, including two iPad docking speakers and a speaker dock that is specifically designed for Samsung’s range of Galaxy Tab tablets.
According to Joseph Palenchar over at twice.com, the two iPad docking speaker systems – which were shown in mockup form at this year’s International CES event – will be arriving sometime in late-July. The two docking speaker models in question are the iMM514 ArtStation Pro and the iMM727 Art Station, which thanks to their innovative designs can both double up as tablet workstations.

For example, the iMM514 ArtStation Pro speaker dock – which has a suggested retail price of $169 – holds the iPad tablet on a fixed-mount pillar at a backward-sloping angle above the rectangular speaker base. The iPad can then be manually rotated in order to view the display in portrait or landscape modes. The iMM514 can also be used with an optional Bluetooth keyboard that features iPad hot keys.
The Bluetooth keyboard can be purchased separately for a suggested retail price of $69, although there is also the option of purchasing it bundled with the iMM514 (known then as the iMM517) at a suggested price of $199. According to the product page over at i-luv-uk.co.uk, the iMM514 is built with dynamic acoustic speaker chambers and will charge your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch while you play.
Meanwhile, the iMM727 Art Station – which has a suggested retail price of $99.99 – also comes with a pillar that holds the iPad above its backward-sloping speaker base. However, the pillar on the iMM727 model slides backwards and forwards while the iPad tilts at an angle, so users can type comfortable on the tablet’s virtual QWERTY keyboard. Users can also rotate the iPad manually to view in portrait or landscape mode.
Both models will be available in black or white, and will also be able to hold an iPhone or iPod. The iSM524 Art Station Pro for Samsung’s Galaxy Tab series of tablets is due to ship sometime in August. The iSM524 is designed like the iPad-docking iMM514 model, but utilizes the Galaxy Tab’s 30-pin connector. It will hold the 7-inch, 8.9-inch and 10.1-inch versions of the Galaxy Tab.
iLuv Creative Technology also unveiled the MusicPac tablet case, which is sized for any 10-inch tablet PC, and connects the integrated speakers to the device’s headphone output. It also comes with exterior stereo speakers and volume control. Are you thinking about buying a docking speaker system for your iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab?
