Best self-tanners for 2011, apps the safer option

By Peter Chubb - Jul 5, 2011

There is no better feeling than walking out in the street with a nice tan, but for some this is impossible for a number of reasons. One is that you do not go away to the sun, and the other is that the weather is hardly that great where you live. Thankfully there are a host of best self-tanners in your area, but at what cost. We say this because it is a proven fact that going on a sun bed is not good for your health and should really be avoided. However, there is a way around this, as there is a list of apps that will make it look as though you have a tan, or give you the feeling of having one.

Portable Tanning Machine is one of those strange apps that you just have to download and give a try just for the pure fun of it. This app allows you to turn on those tanning bulbs to listen and see them come on. Now we know that this serves no purpose at all, but better than getting cancer.

Tanning Bed is the next on our list and is a little different, as you will get a tan from this app. OK, so not in the way that you think. All you need to do is take a picture of yourself where you think you are looking a bit pasty and then allow the app to give you an instant tan. Maybe you have a group photo of your friends so that you can give them all a tan to?

One of the most popular app series for having fun with photos is the Booth range, so no guesses how funny TanningBooth is. There is the standard and HD version of this app, and will give you a tan without the expense. You can take your picture with the app and then allow it to do its magic. Once you have the end product why not share it with your friends via Facebook or Twitter?

What we believe to be the best app is Tanning Kiosk, as not only can you see yourself with a tan, but also you can make it as subtle or intense as you like. Now you may wonder why you would want to do this, but this will show you just how bad you look if you were to stay in the sun for long periods at a time. We would like to point out that you should only use good quality images, as this will give you a much better result.

We do hope that these apps will make you reconsider trying to fry your skin in the sun just to get a tan?
